A generalist institution that also boasts numerous advanced activities, the IRIS Hospitals South constitute a public medical facility with 661 beds on 4 sites to the south of Brussels:  Ixelles, Forest, Anderlecht and Etterbeek. All of these sites are acute care facilities, except that of Etterbeek (Baron Lambert), which houses a polyclinic and an outpatient surgical unit.  The majority of patients come from these municipalities, thereby bolstering year after year the local hospital status which the IRIS Hospitals South prize so much.
